| Well, It's not a traditional bow kill. As Neil says, "I used my training wheels." Maybe this fall I can get one with my new Bear's Paw Swift! 20lbs, 9 1/2" beard, 7/8" spurs. 15 yards, opening day |

This beautiful ram was taken with one of my Take-Down longbows in 1998. After over 30 years of trying for a permit, I finally drew one. It was one of the most rewarding hunts I ever had and it makes quite a story if you would like to read about it. I had many close encounters and learned a tremendous amount about sheep hunting. Maybe if my luck holds out, I'll get another permit in thirty years! I took it with a 62# one-piece longbow, grenadilla handle with red elm limbs. I used a 2018 aluminum shaft with a 125 gr. 4 blade Magnus broadhead.

I hate Turkeys!! How can a bird with a brain the size of a pea out smart me so often. I used a ground blind and decoys to get this bird within range. I was lucky in that I shot him in the neck.

I caught this char a few years ago on the north side of the Brooks Range while Caribou hunting. All my friend Skip would tell me is the river's name is "Zipper Mouth" and that it flows out of Web Lake which is located up a spiders...........

Ok, ok, I know this has nothing to do with bows or archery, but I couldn't resist. Nice company for the one on my wall! It's bigger. I caught this one a couple of years ago. Never did weigh it, just enjoyed the fight and let it go. Maybe I'll catch it when it grows up!

This was a fairly hard lion hunt. We trailed the dogs from ten in the morning until nearly dark before they treed the lion. Approximately four miles from the truck, in deep snow. Interestingly, this lion was blind in one eye from a .22 bullet that I found lodged in his skull. It was a ten yard shot. When I shot him, the arrow passed right through. He made one jump from the tree and was dead within ten feet.

This is the first elk I have shot out of a tree stand, the shot was about 5 yards. I can even hit them at 5 yards. The recovery was about 150 yards. I was using a little 54" T.D. recurve with a gold tip shaft and a magnus broadhead.

| I'd shot a doe earlier in the evening and when she ran off and crashed I heard a deer run over to her and start grunting. I'm not sure what he was doing to the doe but it didn't sound good. I made a few grunts and after about 20 minutes this buck came to within about 3 yards of my tree. I shot this buck with a T.D. longbow. |

This buck was 10 years old. the year before I'd had him run under my stand chasing does a couple times but I could never get him to stop. The year before he was a big 4x4. We could't find a form big enough to mount him on so we had to enlarge one to work. My T.D. longbow get's lots of shooting in.

This buck I fondly call coyote ugly. Ugly couldn't make up his mind if he was a whitetail or a muley. I used my shortest takedown recurve on him. It's a 50" bow, a 62# draw, 2018 aluminum shafts with a magnus broadhead. Recovery was about 125 yards with a walking bloodtrail.
